Musical powerhouses [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Queen Latifah[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dolly Parton[/lastfm] are teaming up to star in a new movie that promises to bring hope, inspiration and laughs! The two are starring in the new film Joyful Noise.

Latifah and Parton star in the new movie based upon two women who must work together after a small-town gospel choir is threatened after the death of the group’s director.

The film is laced with several musical numbers, an inspirational plot and great fun.

Joyful Noise is written and directed by Todd Graff and is slated to be in theaters January 13, 2012.

For Country Superstar Parton, the movie marks Parton’s first film role since Straight Talk, which was released in 1992.

Latifah has starred in a string of box office hits such as Set If Off, and and Ice Age franchise.

The movie also stars Keke Palmer and Courtney B. Vance .
