My friend Dana T. was the one who told me about this. (I tend to ignore most email marketing I get from the bank so I appreciate the heads up.) Her husband works for the group within BoA that developed the program. After she mentioned it to me I went on and checked it out. Since I have several BoA credit card/debit cards I was able to link them to the program and browse the deals. I am sure deals will vary from person to person and state to state, but here are a few to wet your appetite! According to the FAQs they customize the offers you get based on the places you already use your BoA debit/credit cards or places in similar categories. Each deal has different expiration dates, but typically you have a few on each merchant.
Loco Lime 20%
Red Box 15%
Toys & Co. 10%
Home Depot 10%
Monkey Joe’s 25%
After looking at the list of deals you just add the ones you want to your offers and then spend as you normally would. One of the interesting things with this program is that if you log on to online banking and look at your transaction history the deals available in that category populate. It then shows you if you are subscribed to the offer or not. For example on my transaction at Bruegger’s it shows the Starbucks 10% offer and for Bed Bath & Beyond it shows the Home Depot offer.
I made my first purchase on Friday that will give me a cash back reward. Now I am just waiting to see the money posted. Assuming it goes as they say I’ll get $4-5 back on a $46 check at Hawthorne’s (not sure what the pre-tax total of the bill but I assume the cash back will be based on the pre-tax/tip amount). I give this program my very first MOM$SENSE Golden Scissor award!
Saving money is just MOM$ENSE!
