If you’ve read my blogs before than you know out of the two, being X-Factor and AI, I would choose X-Factor simply because it’s new and refreshing more so than seeing the same thing every year for the last 12 years. However, that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the incredibly funny, sad and sometimes the cringe worthy auditions that have made American Idol so famous over the years.

So yes, like millions of people, my wife and I watched the premier of American Idol last night. Overall I liked it but there were some very annoying and awkward moments between Mariah and Nicki. So annoying that at one point Lauren (my wife) muted the TV. I felt really bad for Keith Urban, who I think will be really good on the show.

Anyway, I will most likely continue to watch the show for the funny auditions and I guess the good ones, but lets be honestly mostly for the bad ones, I will just have to  have the remote ready to hit mute at any given time. We’ll see how this all plays out. I do know that while they were holding auditions in Charlotte, at the Speedway, Nicki and Mariah really got into it (video below from TMZ) and it’s going to be interesting to see how the show handles it.
