If you’ve lived in the Carolinas any length of time, then the Carolinas Medical Center and Carolinas Healthcare Foundation has, no doubt, touched your life in some way. Maybe your doctor is on staff, and you go there for check ups, maybe CMC doctors reset your kids arm when he or she broke it in soccer. Or, in my case, are my family doctors’ on staff, but an Orthopod at CMC Pineville did a partial hip replacement on my hubby when he broke his femur in a fall two years ago.
Being a part of the Cupid’s Cup 5k and Fitness Walk is a way to get that heart pumping with great exercise, raise awareness of heart disease, and it’s also a great way to give back. It’s a fundraising event that benefits Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Programs at CMC.
CarolinasHealthcareFoundation.org says, “Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death in America today, claiming the lives of nearly one million men and women each year. This disease also accounts for almost six million hospitalizations, annually. Locally, Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute has the medical expertise, equipment and facilities to address this disease and provide both acute care as well as much needed preventive and rehabilitative care for patients in our community.”
Be a part of the day! Participate in the Cupid’s Cup this Saturday, February 9th. You have the option to form or join a team or register as an individual and help Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute fight cardiovascular disease.
