Nifty Under $50: Sports Night In Charlotte
OK so there may not be that much excitement going on in the world of sports here locally. However, that doesn’t mean that a guys night out or a father son sports night can’t be fun. Even if the Bobcats end up losing by…. oh I don’t 20 some odd points.
The fact of the matter is that while I was a kid and my dad would take me to a Hornets game or a Knights game chances are a week later I most likely couldn’t tell you who we played or what the score was but I could tell you that I had a great time with my dad. Ultimately that’s whats important.
So yes watching the Bobcats game can be frustrating but if you’re taking your son (nephew or whoever) chances are they’re just going to remember how much fun they had with you.
If it’s a guys night out we all know who wins doesn’t matter because either way you’re going to have a good time. If your teams wins….. well that’s just an added bonus.
Here’s how you can have a Sports night in Charlotte staying at or under $50. (this is assuming you’re taking and paying for someone else)
Tickets: Purchase two tickets online in the nosebleeds (I know but remember we’re on a budget) and the price per ticket is $10 with a $6 fee. (This is for Bobcats Games, Checkers only have lower level seats and are a little more expensive)
Total Price = $32 for two tickets (you can probably buy these tickets at the door without the fee’s but the lines are usually extremely long)
Dinner: The Epicentre is right across the street from TWC arena so whether you drive or take the light rail in its a great place to grab dinner prior to (or after) the game. Here are your options:
- 5 Guys: 2 (not so) Little Bacon Burgers + 1 order of Fries (that’s all you’ll need) and two waters = $14.26
- Libretto’s Pizza: 2 Personal (10 inch) Pizzas = $15.90 (+ tax)
- A few other places to look into is Jason’s Deli, Firehouse Subs & Moe’s which all offer things that will help stay under $50.
Total price for Tickets and Dinner: $46.26 (with 5 Guys) and $47.90 (with Libretto’s)
So now you may have a little money left over to get half of a beer :) but nonetheless you’ll be able to have a fun night out enjoying dinner and a game with someone special all while staying under $50! Also look into Wednesday night basketball because the Bobcats offer some really cool money saving deals like half priced beer and all you can eat popcorn.
Hope this helps! – Brandon
