Fitzgerald’s Irish Pub is the newest addition to uptown Charlotte. Located on the corner of 5th St and N. College St, open seven days a week, Fitzgerald’s will provide the perfect atmosphere to enjoy spirits and great food.
Lively and festive anytime of the day, Fitzgerald’s is the perfect place to gather with friends or to meet new people. A variety of menu items and a perfect pint of your favorite frosty beer awaits; all of which can be enjoyed alongside our big screen TV’s spread throughout the pub. FIP: Fitzgerald’s was taken from President John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s middle name.
CBS: What type of restaurant are you?
FIP: We are an Irish American pub that serves upscale pub food with both Irish and American influence.
CBS: Are you a chain restaurant?
FIP: No, we’re privately owned, not a chain.
CBS: Tell us about the owner?
FIP: They’re a great person with even greater expectations, who promotes nothing but excellence in all aspects of the business.
CBS: How did they get started in the restaurant industry?
FIP: Started from the nightclub industry, which led to wanting to open a pub.
CBS: Who is the head chef?
FIP: The head chef is Deacon L. Ovall.
CBS: Describe the atmosphere in the restaurant.
FIP: It’s a Pub feel with a great atmosphere. We cater to a wide range of people from the after work crowd, to families, to people that want to relax and have a great time. Also to those who want to throw a party for their friends.
CBS: What type of crowd does the restaurant attract?
FIP: We attract all types of people! Everyone is more than welcome; especially those who want great food and drinks in a welcoming environment.
CBS: What type of food is on the menu?
FIP: Most anything is on our menu from Irish-American classics like Corn Beef and Cabbage, Nachos and Signature dishes like our Shillelagh Burger (burger with corn beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and 1000island dressing).
CBS: What’s the must-have dish that everyone should try when they come to the restaurant?
FIP: They should try either the Balsamic Marinated Chicken, the Chicken Riggies or our delicious Guinness Tiramisu.
CBS: Do you have daily food specials?
FIP: Yes! Monday through Friday we have daily lunch specials such as Chicken and Dumplings on Thursdays or Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos on Fridays. And daily we always feature a Catch of the Day.
CBS: What drink specials do you offer and do you offer any other specials?
FIP: Daily drink specials are available on our website. We also have $5 Bar Bites Monday through Friday from 4-7 PM!
CBS: What keeps the patrons coming back for more?
FIP: We’d like to believe it’s a few things; the food quality, service and convenience to our valued customers is something we try to give the best of and hope that’s what keeps them coming back.
CBS: What is the busiest times and days of the week for the restaurant?
FIP: We have late night, happy hour, Game watches. All of which are busy times.
CBS: What are your business hours?
FIP: We’re open from 11AM to 2AM

FIP: Yes, gladly. You can call or visit us online for more information about catering.

FIP: We have reservations available if needed, but they are not necessary.
CBS: How do you plan to grow your business?
FIP: We plan to continue our growth by serving great food at a good price. And also by continuing to expand and develop our menu to trends and our guests wants and needs.

FIP: Yes, we definitely plan to add more locations in the future.

FIP: We prepare everything in house, our bread comes fresh from a local bakery every day and we love to meet new customers so come by and have some good drinks, food and fun!
